Jerry is president and CEO of O’Brien-Staley Partners, a firm that invests in commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate credit and other banking-type opportunities. Prior to forming O’Brien-Staley Partners, Jerry spent 17 years running asset management businesses for Cargill.
Jerry likes giving back to nonprofit organizations that made a difference in his life. By applying his investment and management expertise, Jerry works to keep these institutions strong to serve those following in his footsteps. Additional board memberships include the Greater Twin Cities United Way and Weisman Art Museum. Jerry’s family established a donor advised fund with Minnesota Community Foundation that sponsors fellowships at the University of Chicago and Weisman Art Museum, and supports operations at the Crisis Nursery.
Jerry has a Master of Business Administration in analytic finance and marketing from the University of Chicago. He graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, where he earned a bachelor’s in economics and worked as a museum guard.
He and his wife, Lisa, live with their three school-age children in Edina.
