What We Do

GiveMN.org aims to grow charitable giving and make it more efficient by moving more of it online. A first-of-its-kind website, GiveMN is a fun and simple way for individuals to give to their favorite causes and organization.

GiveMN helps people connect with worthy organizations and manage their charitable giving. Donors can discover new organizations through search, set up recurring donations and connect with friends and family to make donations together. GiveMN also provides nonprofit organizations with free online profiles and tools to help them engage donors and tell their stories.

Our Impact

Founded in November 2009, GiveMN already has raised more than $30 million for thousands of nonprofits and created the largest, online giving event in the world, Give to the Max Day. In its inaugural Give to the Max Day, GiveMN helped raise $14 million for Minnesota nonprofits in 24 hours, and every day throughout the year, it is helping organizations increase income while also reducing fundraising costs. Studies show that raising $1 online costs just 7 cents, which is 65 percent less than the average fundraising costs.

The Role of Minnesota Community Foundation

GiveMN is a collaborative venture that was conceived and initiated by the board of Minnesota Community Foundation. It has strong partner support from foundations across the state, including The Minneapolis Foundation, the Otto Bremer Foundation, Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Minnesota Initiative Foundations. GiveMN is an independent 501(c)(3) support organization of Minnesota Community Foundation.
