The Transformational Fund is a unique grant program of Minnesota Community Foundation, made possible in collaboration with a generous donor. The Fund provides a one-time grant of up to $500,000 to a nonprofit organization that is poised for organization-wide, long-term, sustainable change.

To be eligible, organizations must serve Hennepin County residents and primarily work to help individuals and families become self-sufficient. Organizations with education programs that directly lead to self-sufficiency are encouraged to apply.

The grant is intended to improve effectiveness and efficiency; support dramatic growth and change in a promising organization; and allow an organization to move to the next level.

The Transformational Fund will support a nonprofit organization that demonstrates:

• Majority of services to Hennepin County residents
• Effective support to move individuals and families to self-sufficiency
• A strong business model based on an appropriate revenue mix
• A clear understanding of the strengths and weakness of the current infrastructure
• Commitment by board and key staff to an organization-wide move to the next level of service
• Shared understanding of the steps needed to get there

The Fund will not support political or lobbying organizations or activities.
