The Community Funds Program of Minnesota Community Foundation helps communities build permanent endowment funds and make grants to benefit their communities.
Community foundations represent the fastest growing sector in philanthropy today. Americans have enjoyed much prosperity over the past few decades, and a significant portion of this wealth is held by individuals strongly committed to their communities. The Community Funds Program of Minnesota Community Foundation helps communities work with donors to attract resources to build permanent endowment funds and make grants to benefit their communities.
A number of these communities, many with populations under 20,000, have permanent fund assets nearing $1 million, producing grant dollars of nearly $50,000 annually back to the community. In addition, individual donors have created restricted purpose, designated, or family funds that will benefit their communities into perpetuity.
